October 9th, 2017, Megan and I along with Boeing Volunteers worked the morning shift at the Portwall Warehouse of the Houston Food Bank. We worked on the Backpack Buddy Program, which provides school kids on free or reduced lunches 6 meals worth of nutrious food they can take home with them on Fridays to feed them over the weekend. During the 4 hours of the shift, we along with 200 other volunteers assembled 7500 backpacks, for a total of 45000 meals. The Houston Food Bank provides 15000 backpacks a week, all assembled by volunteers. #Helpie
